Domus ITSL - Common Criteria, FIPS 140-2, INTERAC. IT Security Evaluations

Evaluation of Common Criteria, FIPS 140, INTERAC (SPED), PCI, security and cryptographic products

After June 30, 1997, US Federal Government departments or agencies must purchase and use only cryptographic products meeting the FIPS 140 standard to protect their unclassified, but sensitive data. The Canadian Communications Security Establishment encourages Canadian Government departments to use products with FIPS 140 certified cryptographic modules and will only accept FIPS 140 certified products for evaluation under its Cryptographic Endorsement and Assessment Program (CEAP).

Certification provides an independent assurance of the security of your product based on a standard developed by a combined government and industry working group of both users and vendors.

The CMVP was established by NIST and the Communications Security Establishment (CSE) of the Government of Canada in July 1995. All of the tests under the CMVP are handled by third-party laboratories that are accredited as Cryptographic Module Testing (CMT) laboratories by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP).
